The Participation Passport is a new initiative for Year 7 students.

A new participation program has been launched for Year 7 students.

News Article Text:In the words of Venerable Catherine McAuley, “We must strive to do ordinary things extraordinarily well.” In the spirit of this, Year 7 students have been invited to take part in a new initiative designed to encourage them to participate in as many activities as possible, and strive to do their personal best at all times in all aspects of the school community.

The ‘Participation Passport’ will allow students to track their engagement in school activities and acknowledge their involvement in the school community. Mrs T. Cowling, Leader of Learning Wellbeing Year 7, told the Year 7 students at the launch of the Participation Passport that this was a new program specifically for Year 7. “We want to give you the opportunity to be recognised for all of those things that you are joining in on. For example, the activities that might happen at lunchtime like Chapter Chatter in the library or walking around the oval for Wellbeing Wednesday or making blankets with the Crochet Club,” Mrs Cowling told the students. “We want you to be recognised for being part of the Catherine McAuley Community.”

Once a student has participated in an activity they can present their Participation Passport to the teacher in charge and ask for it to be stamped or initialled to acknowledge their participation. Completed passports can then be submitted to Mrs Cowling so that a record of the student’s participation can be recorded on the student’s report.

Year 7 students received their House coloured Participation Passport Thursday, 14th August, and have been asked to keep it in their school planner so that it is with them at all times.
