A Mother's Day Stall was held at lunchtime on Tuesday, 5th May as one of the many fundraisers this term for The Parramatta Women's Shelter.
Students and staff unite this term to raise awareness and funds for women and children supported by the Parramatta Women’s Shelter.
This term, the school’s social justice focus is the Parramatta Women’s Shelter. Led by Ryan and Mercedes Houses, the initiative aims to raise awareness of the vital support the shelter provides to women and children in the local community. Since its establishment in 2019, the shelter has assisted countless individuals and families, relying on ongoing donations to continue its important work.

The House Leaders of Ryan, Bailey S. and Mercedes, Erin M. presented on Term 2 fundraising at the school assembly last week.
Throughout the term, the school community will take part in a range of events to both raise awareness and generate funds. At last week’s assembly, Student Leaders from Mercedes and Ryan Houses addressed students and staff, highlighting the significance of this term’s cause.
“The generosity of the McAuley community has made a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of women within our local area,” Erin M. and Bailey S. said.
We are incredibly grateful for your continued support and we look forward to building on this tradition together.
Fundraising began on Tuesday with the much-loved Mother’s Day Stall, held at lunchtime. Students were invited to visit and select a thoughtful gift to celebrate someone special.

House Leaders, with special guest Ms D. Grigson, Assistant Principal, gave an example of a lip sync performance at the assembly.
Erin and Bailey also reminded the assembly that there will be many opportunities to get involved in the weeks ahead. A highlight of the term will be the highly anticipated Lip Sync Battle, a major fundraising event that always draws strong participation. To build excitement, student leaders delivered a lively preview performance, joined by a surprise appearance from Assistant Principal, Debbie Grigson.
Thank you in advance for your support of the Parramatta Women’s Shelter.
