Year 7 students Alexis A., Fleur P. and Holly G. have written about the theatre production they experienced at school this week

On Tuesday, 13th of August, Year 7 classes watched a live play performed by Starrs Production. This play was performed by two of their cast members, who acted as the characters Edward, Zoe and Jane. Starr's Production has been performing in schools for the past 30 years and has incorporated many different drama techniques into their performance to display a simple yet effective play.

The play featured Edward and Zoey who start to cyberbully a girl in their class named Jane because they think she is commenting nasty things on Edward's blog. Due to this Jane had to leave the school. After cyberbullying Jane, Zoey had a taste for power so she started cyberbullying other people in her class.

The police showed up to examine why Edward and Zoey would have done such a thing to harm another person in such a harmful way. They questioned and interrogated them, coming to the conclusion that they would have a penalty for their actions.

This play allowed us all to see how our actions behind the scenes affect others. The play was performed in a simple way but helped us with understanding many concepts of theatre which we have been studying in English class such as voice tone, spacing between words, the timing of entering the stage and saying things in sync. These aspects all come together to present a play that had not only a deeper meaning behind it but was well set out and helped to convey the message through the actors' clarity and performance.
