The Catherine McAuley school swimming carnival was held on Tuesday this week at the new Parramatta Aquatic Centre.

Despite the heat the students and staff showed their House spirit by dressing in their House colours and cheering for their team. As always it was a great school community day.

A highlight of the carnival was the Fastest Student at McAuley 50m Freestyle race. Congratulations to all students who competed:

  • 1st place winner Elisha H., Year 11 | Ryan
  • 2nd place runner up Ruby S., Year 8 | Caritas
  • 3rd place runner up Irene S., Year 12 | Clare

Following the fastest student race it was the House relay to determine who was the fastest House. Well done to Caritas House who were the winners and to 2nd place Clare and 3rd Coolock.

The final race of the day was the Teachers vs Year 12 and predictably it was the Year 12 students who proved that they are faster than the teachers. Well done Year 12!

The Year 12 dress up theme this year was lifeguards

The swimming carnival was extra special for Year 12 students as they attended their last school swimming carnival. This year the Year 12 students dressed in clothing to the theme of lifeguards. The Year 12 students said they felt bitter sweet with it being their last carnival but were having fun.

The Year 11 Media Team has provided us with an interview regarding the year 12's thoughts on this bitter sweet moment
