A new partnership between Catherine McAuley Westmead and the University of Sydney will offer students interested in STEM unique opportunities.

The school is pleased to announce a partnership with the University of Sydney in the Khuda Women in STEM Program, a new 20-year program funded by a $100 million donation from the Khuda Family Foundation, to support young women from Western Sydney to explore and excel in STEM education and careers.

The program has three components:
  1. Khuda STEM Outreach: engaging all students at the school in Years 7 - 10 in hands-on activities run by the University of Sydney Science and Engineering Outreach teams.
  2. Khuda Women in STEM Academy: selected students in Years 11 and 12 participate in a dedicated program of STEM exploration and skill development, receiving a $4,000 per annum scholarship, tutoring and mentoring, as well as an admissions pathway for eligible Engineering and Science degrees at the University of Sydney.
  3. Khuda Scholars Program: for graduates of the Khuda Academy who study an eligible Engineering or Science degree at the University of Sydney. Students receive a guaranteed scholarship together with academic and careers support and the benefits of a vibrant women in STEM community.

Applications have opened to the Khuda Academy for 2026, and students currently in Year 10 and 11 who have diverse interests in STEM, including those who are undecided about STEM as a career, may like to consider applying.
