Two of our Year 11 Visual Arts students completed the 2023 National Art School HSC Intensive Studio Practice Course this year.

The National Art School selection process for the HSC Intensive Studio Practice Course involves nomination by a Visual Arts teacher, and then an extensive selection process by National Art School based on a submitted portfolio of works.

Selected students must commit to face-to-face attendance over two school holiday periods. With over 300 applicants for the course, 136 students from 82 schools around NSW completed the course this year, including our very own Matea Novak and Faith Frangie.

Matea and Faith shared that they enjoyed their taste of learning in a tertiary environment and that they especially loved the studio-based learning environment seminal to the National Art School, and were excited about how their experience will inform their future artistic practice, especially as they enter into their HSC year of schooling

The school will celebrate Matea and Faith’s achievement at the next Year 11 Form Assembly. Ms Breen, Visual Arts Teacher, is incredibly proud of both Matea and Faith. Congratulations!

The success of our Visual Arts students continues with two Year 12 students being offered places to study at highly esteemed art schools. Claire Cuatlo has been offered a place at the National Art School and Patricia Balanza has been offered a place at the University of Technology Sydney.
