Catherine McAuley Westmead Class of 2022

 

Congratulations to the Class of 2022 who have received outstanding HSC results!

Catherine McAuley has had seven students placed in the Top 10 of the State for their subject; had 77% of courses studied above the State average; and has had one student awarded a NSW Premier’s Award for All-Round Excellence.

Students achieved a band 5 or 6 in 52% of all exams undertaken and a band 4, 5 or 6 in 84% of all exams undertaken. This is a wonderful achievement!

Ms Mary Refalo, School Principal, congratulated the Class of 2022 on these results. "This year's HSC results are excellent, with individual student growth evident for many students and the total numbers of bands 5 and 6 having increased from last year. Catherine McAuley Westmead is incredibly proud of the Class of 2022 who have persisted in striving for higher things in all that they do”.

Congratulations to Victoria Carr who was awarded a NSW Premier’s Award for All-Round Excellence! Victoria achieved a band 6 in 10 or more units.

70 students have been named on the Distinguished Achievers list. These students have received a Band 6 in at least one course.

Outstanding results were achieved in Business Services with Catherine McAuley having two students place equal 2nd in the State (Christina Batti and Nishika Jain); two students place equal 5th (Jerica Macaraeg & Anita Mikhael) and one student place equal 9th (Sofia Falzon). Of the total 34 band 6’s achieved across the State for Business Services Catherine McAuley students were awarded nine of these! This means over a quarter of the band 6 results for this subject were achieved by Catherine McAuley! This is the 8th year in a row that Catherine McAuley has had a student place in the Top 10 for Business Services.

Other students who achieved in the Top 10 of the State for their subject included Molly Barker who placed 8th in English Standard and Taliah Scanlan who placed 3rd in Human Services.

Wonderful results were also achieved by students studying Creative and Performing Arts with 82% of students receiving a band 5 or 6!

Catherine McAuley had two students nominated for ARTEXPRESS (Yamonna Han Rose and Arabelle Remorozo); two students nominated for the Shape exhibition (Sheryn Lucas and Arabelle Remorozo); and one student who received full marks for their Society and Culture Personal Interest Project (PIP).
