Clare and Dobson Houses ran another successful fundraiser on Tuesday this week for the Mercy Works Timor Leste Chicken and Egg Nutrition Appeal. The two Houses joined together to organise a gift stall with items available for Father’s Day but also for any gift giving. $940 was raised!
Thank you to all members of the school community who donated unwanted gifts to be re-gifted for the stall including a pair of brand new Dr Martens which were auctioned off via a silent auction. Ms Bounassif, School Finance Officer, was the lucky winner.
The Hospitaller Sisters of Mercy are saving lives in Timor Leste by supplying egg-laying chickens and eggs to the Mercy Works’ Maternity Clinic. This clinic provides care, education and conducts outreach work to the women living in the remote villages of the Maucatar region. The eggs help improve the nutritional status of mothers and young children by providing extra protein.
