Year 10 student Reya had a speech read out in Federal Parliament on Monday 18th October 2021 as part of the ‘Raise Our Voice in Parliament’ campaign spearheaded by social enterprise Raise Our Voice Australia.
Reya’s speech was one of those selected to be read out and it was Julie Owens MP, Member for Parramatta who read Reya’s speech.
In her speech Reya outlined where she would like to see Australia twenty years into the future. She hopes it is a place where women and minorities are heard and represented in parliament and other leadership roles and is a country that changes the way it sees migrants and refugees.
