On Wednesday, 19th May 2021 at 11am it was the National Simultaneous Storytime and this year was extra special with a story read by astronaut Dr Shannon Walker from the International Space Station!
Libraries across Australia and indeed the world stopped at 11am to listen to Dr Walker read the story ‘Give Me Some Space’, written and illustrated by Australian Philip Bunting. With her ponytail flying up behind her it was clear that this story was not being read on earth! A number of McAuley students gathered in the library to listen to the story being read and to help promote the value of reading and literacy.
