Six VET Business Services students have recently completed a simulated work placement in place of the normal work placement they would do in pre Covid times. Provided by AusSIP (Australian Schools Industry Partnership) the students attended each day for a week and were joined by 12 Parramatta Marist students also.
Students were required to attend in office appropriate clothing and complete a number of business tasks. Some of these tasks included doing profit and loss statements and looking at different enterprise agreements. Mrs Williams, HSIE/VET Teacher said, “the students learnt how exhausting work can be and also learnt a whole range of skills that they will be able to use in the future. All the students had a great time and even learnt about the impact of Covid on businesses”.
