Congratulations to Year 10 student Maria J., who placed in the Top 10 in the State in the Australian Brain Bee Challenge.
Catherine McAuley students continue to excel in the field of Science.
At the school assembly held last week Catherine McAuley Science students were recognised for their outstanding results in two international science competitions.
The International Chemistry Quiz (ICQ) attracts tens of thousands of students from across Australia and around the world each year. This year, Catherine McAuley had 79 Years 9 and 10 students, who were nominated by their Science Teachers, and 35 Year 11 Chemistry students, who were invited to participate.
The quiz challenged students to solve complex problems, think critically, and apply their scientific knowledge to new concepts - skills that are invaluable for future learning and success. At the school assembly students who attained Credit (70–80%), Distinction (80–90%) and High Distinction (90–100%) results were acknowledged. Certificates were presented by School Principal Mary Refalo to Distinction and High Distinction recipients, with Credit certificates given out at Form Assemblies.
