Catherine McAuley has a Year 12 student who is a regional finalist in the NSW VET in Schools Student of the Year Training Awards.
Congratulations to Year 12 student Georgia E-K., who has been announced as a finalist for the NSW VET in Schools Student of the Year Training Awards (Western Sydney and Blue Mountains region). This award recognises an exceptional student who is undertaking accredited vocational education and training (VET) as part of their HSC program of study.
Georgia has been nominated for her Business Services subject.
The regional winner of the NSW VET in Schools Student of the Year Training Award will be announced at the award ceremony on Thursday 28th May 2026. Good luck Georgia!

STUDENT LEADERSHIP 🔹 Year 11 student Victoria Mc. is making her voice heard as a member of the Parramatta Youth Alliance (PYA), an initiative launched by State Member for Parramatta, Donna Davis MP. Bringing together students from across the Parramatta Electorate, the PYA empowers young people to discuss the issues that matter to them and gain firsthand insight into the political process. Recently, Victoria and fellow members visited the NSW Parliament, where they met with Minister for Youth, Rose Jackson MLC, and experienced Question Time in action. A wonderful opportunity for our young leaders to engage with government, deepen their understanding, and see how their voices can help shape the future. @DonnaDavisMP

On Friday 3rd April, Good Friday, eighteen students and staff from Catherine McAuley joined more than 1000 young people from across Sydney for the annual Good Friday Night Walk pilgrimage from Blacktown to St Patrick’s Cathedral, Parramatta. ⛪✝ Along the way, we stopped at local churches including St Michael’s South Blacktown, St Mark’s Coptic Prospect, Our Lady Queen of Peace Greystanes, and our very own Catherine McAuley, sharing in prayer, reflection, and faith-filled journeying together. 🤍 Thank you to Ms Banks and the three students who hosted the pilgrims at the Morley Centre at 4:30am. - Miss R. WELCOME BACK FOR TERM 2! ❄️ It was wonderful to see students return today, ready for a busy and exciting term of learning. For Year 7 students, today was especially significant as it marked the first time wearing the Catherine McAuley Westmead winter uniform. As we move into the cooler months, a reminder that all students are required to wear the correct winter uniform. Compulsory items: • School blazer • Short-sleeved junior or senior school blouse • School winter skirt • Opaque black stockings • Standard black lace-up school shoes Optional items: • School jumper (Junior – maroon with teal trim | Senior – teal with maroon trim) • School trousers (must be fitted and purchased from the School Locker) • School scarf • School cap or bucket hat Please remember that blazers must be worn to and from school during the winter terms. YEAR 12 HSC WORKSHOPS ✏️📚 During the recent school holidays, dedicated Year 12 students took advantage of a series of optional HSC workshops held at school. Religious Education students had the opportunity to attend a workshop on Wednesday, 15th April, where they focused on unpacking exam questions, gaining a clear understanding of what markers are looking for, and refining their skills in writing high-quality responses. Working collaboratively, students analysed past questions and created mind maps to strengthen their approach to a variety of HSC-style responses. It was fantastic to see such commitment and focus as they continue their preparation for the HSC!

PROJECT COMPASSION ✝ Students have shown incredible support for Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion this term, raising awareness about water inequality and helping fund vital programs to reduce water poverty in communities in need. 💧 Some of the stalls held this past week included a Years 7 & 12 Dobson Easter Stall and a Year 7 Veritas Bake Stall. Well done to all students involved!

ATHLETICS CARNIVAL 2026 – Year 12!! 🤠 Year 12 students celebrated their final Athletics Carnival in style on Tuesday, embracing their ‘cowgirls’ theme with plenty of energy and school spirit! Held at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre, just moments away from the upcoming Easter Show, the theme was a perfect fit. A fantastic way to mark their last carnival - full of fun, memories and Year 12 spirit! 🐄👏

ATHLETICS CARNIVAL 2026 🏃 4 Person Open Relay! The final race at the 2026 Athletics Carnival was the 100m 4 Person Open Relay, which produced a thrilling finish - the staff team came agonisingly close to taking the win! In the end, however, Caritas proved too strong. The final standings were: 1st Caritas, 2nd Staff, 3rd Veritas, 4th Coolock, 5th Ryan, 6th Dobson, 7th Clare, and 8th Mercedes.

Yesterday, on Holy Wednesday, the Liturgy Leaders, accompanied by the Liturgy Choir, led the school in praying The Stations of the Cross. The Stations of the Cross are a beautiful expression of the core of our faith, which is that Jesus embraced the dramas of every human life, our triumphs and failures, our joys and sorrows. All students and staff gathered for this moving liturgy. ✝
