HSC Geography students visited the South Coast last week for a field trip.

Year 11 Geography students (now considered Year 12) expanded their world last week with a hands-on field trip.

The study of place and specific case studies is a fundamental part of HSC Geography. With this in mind the HSC Geography class headed south last week to complete hands-on fieldwork for every HSC topic.

The students snorkelled above the kelp forests of the Great Southern Reef in Jervis Bay, undertook a guided tour of Berry as a study of a rural town and had the owner and winemaker of Silos Estate Winery speak to them about sustainability in the economic activity of winemaking.

Mrs G. Noud, Leader of Learning HSIE - Social Science and Mrs L. Williams, Social Science Teacher, commented on what a privilege it was to take away students who were so keen to get involved in everything and were so interested and engaged in all they learned.
