Catherine McAuley VET students have been recognised at the Rotary Youth Vocational Education Awards.
On Tuesday evening, 6th September, a number of Catherine McAuley VET students were recognised at the 2025 Rotary Youth Vocational Education Awards, held at Northmead Creative and Performing Arts High School.
Schools in the area were invited to nominate their most outstanding students currently completing a vocational course and these students were presented with a certificate. VET Business Services Teacher Mrs T. Grima was also recognised and presented with a Certificate of Excellence in the Delivery of Business Services.

The event was attended by officials from Rotary Clubs, along with representatives from the State, Catholic and Independent education systems. Families and school staff, including Mr M. Hall, Mrs E. Maher, Mrs D. Bonello and Mrs P. Relan was also present to share in the celebrations.
These awards highlight the value of vocational education and the opportunities it provides for students to develop skills that will support their future pathways.

Thank you to all parents and carers and special guests who joined with the school in celebrating Mercy Day on Friday, 5th September. ๐๐ The school was very pleased to have join us Past Principals Margery Jackman and Sister Barbara McDonough rsm and Sisters of Mercy Sr Margaret Jones, Sr Patricia Bolster, Sister Margaret Hinchey and Sr Margaret Sheppard. $10,600 RAISED FOR MERCY WORKS DURING MERCY WEEK!! ๐๐ What an incredible week itโs been at Catherine McAuley Westmead! ๐ During Mercy Week, the school has raised a massive $10,600 for the Mercy Works Remote Laundries Project - bringing the term total to $13,700! ๐ฐ๐ Yesterdayโs Mercy Day was filled with both meaning and fun - from the uplighting Mercy Day Mass, commissioning of the new student leaders, creative dress-ups, entertaining carnival games, activities, food stalls and a dance party ๐ช๐ฉโฆ all to celebrate the schoolโs Mercy tradition and to support a cause that will make a difference to those less fortunate. Yesterday Coolock Court turned into a carnival of colour and laughter with gold-coin donation game stalls like: ๐จ Face Pong (7 Dobson) ๐ฏ Pin the Badge on the Blazer (9 Coolock) ๐ฏ Ring Toss (9 Dobson) ๐ Basketball Throw (8 Dobson) ๐ Snakes & Skittles (10 Dobson) ๐ฅซKnock Down Tins (7 Dobson) ...and so many more! BLESSING AND COMMISSIONING OF THE 2025 - 2026 STUDENT LEADERS โ๏ธ At today's Mercy Day Mass, Catherine McAuley Westmead proudly recognised the new Student Leadership Team for 2025 - 2026. During the Rite of Leadership, the incoming leaders received their badges of office and made a public declaration of their commitment to serve the school community to the best of their ability in leadership and faith. Ms Mary Refalo, School Principal, formally presented the badges, while outgoing School Captains Emily and Kaitlin passed on the Leadership Cross to incoming Captains Talia and Lara - a symbolic and heartfelt moment marking the transition of leadership.
